Meet Patches:
"Little Miss Perfect"

Patches has it all: she's young, healthy, and well mannered (Emily Post would be proud!).  She meets each day with renewed enthusiasm and never gives up hope that her dream family will find her and take her home.

Patches makes friends easily with both people and animals. Undemanding and appreciative, she loves to go on walks and always tries to please her human companions. And she's just the right size for snuggling!

Interested in giving Patches a "furever" home? Call 803-783-2119.

The Animal Protection League partners with local PetSmart stores to help find homes for our feline rescues. Our cats and kittens are showcased in Cat Adoption Centers at three stores: Sparkleberry Square, Rosewood Crossing, and Lexington Pavilion.

We need a volunteer to fill each shift at all three locations, every morning and every evening. Volunteers tidy the individual compartments, freshen food and water, and give each cat time outside the cubicle to play and socialize.

Ideally, volunteers commit to a shift--one morning or evening for about an hour--but if a regular commitment is difficult, volunteers can also sign up to fill in as needed on a week-by-week. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.

We are also in great need of volunteers to help at our dog adoptions on Saturdays.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and have written permission from guardians.  aplpets@bellsouth.net (803) 783-2119

Put a PEP in Your Step!

Make a difference in the lives of our shelter pets by becoming a Pet Enrichment Program (PEP) volunteer. Help socialize our animals to make them more adoptable.

PEP volunteers take dogs to festivals (Soda City, anyone?), play Frisbee and catch with them at the shelter, participate in training sessions, assist with bath time, take them on road trips (they love ice cream!), and teach them sign language.

Will you help? 803-783-2119.

Our shelter has expanded hours of operation!

Now every day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a great time to come out and find your next furry family member.

We are grateful to our faithful donors, who ensure that we can
keep our shelter open,
pay the vet bills,
provide love and care for our rescued animals, and
find them forever homes.
